Shirley, NY — June 24, 2025: Crest Surf Clubs, the first platform of vertically integrated private membership-based surf clubs in the U.S., is proud to announce the appointment of Alex Poirot as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Partner. Poirot will lead the continued development and innovation of Crest’s proprietary wave-generating technology as the company scales nationally and internationally.
Engineering the Future of Man-Made Surfing
Poirot, a renowned engineer in the wave pool industry, brings extensive experience in fluid dynamic and mechanical engineering. His track record includes senior engineering roles at leading surf technology companies, including as a key engineer behind the Kelly Slater Surf Ranch. His expertise spans computational fluid dynamics (CFD), scale prototyping, full-scale wave system design, wave and barrel design, onsite wave tuning and events supervision, hydrofoil design, bathymetry and reefs design, damping and energy dissipation/redistribution design, loads estimations, measurement and analysis, and wave profile creation.
As CTO, Poirot will oversee Crest’s technology platform, Premier Surf Systems, ensuring Crest delivers high-performance, energy-efficient, and customizable waves in a compact footprint — setting a new standard for man-made surfing experiences.
